Sun-X Workplace (Health Safety & Welfare) Regulation 14 Survey

  • Identify and assess existing glazing
  • Recommend remedial action to ensure compliance to safety regulations

On 1st January 1996 it became a legal requirement that all workplace glazing met the minimum standards of impact performance levels of safety glazing.

This applies to all areas that are 'vulnerable' and up to waist height in walls and shoulder height in doors. These regulations are also incorporated into Building Regulations BS6262 Part 4, Safety, Human Impact.

If you have not already taken steps to ensure that you meet these standards, you may be subject to harsh penalties, and if an accident occurred, claims may not be covered by insurance.  Safety window film can help.

You are required as an occupier ( not necessarily the building owner ) to first undertake a glazing safety survey. This assumes that you are qualified to identify glazing types, areas of risk to employees and visitors to your premises, and of course interpret the regulations appropriately.

With years of experience in undertaking surveys for commerce and government, it would make sense to view the inset specimen survey and report which Sun-X provides covered by professional indemnity insurance.

In most cases it is possible for Sun-X to install safety window film in-situ to meet the required standards at a fraction of the cost of glass replacement, and without the disruption that this can cause.
